To achieve my goals, I must work hard for it. I am thankful that I am privileged enough to be able to have these kinds of goals. Along with these goals, I also want to work hard so that other people are able to dream too. In every work I do, I would always do it for the masses, not just for me. We can only be free to do anything is when everyone can finally experience equal rights within this progressive society.

After Senior High School I want to pursue a career on Psychology and/or Zoology because I want to pursue a career where I truly enjoy my work. First, I wanted to pursue a career in Psychology because I was driven by my goal to end stigmas on mental health, especially here in the Philippines. Although we are already progressing into a society that is aware of the existence of mental health, still the topic of that is a bit taboo, since a lot of Filipinos are still uneducated, and also because we have inaccessible health services to it due to the lack of psychiatrists/psychologists and that it can cost a lot. Because of that, I wanted to call for better mental health awareness and accessible health services by becoming a psychiatrist/psychologist. My other career choice is to pursue Zoology because of my love for animals. I have always wondered about how and why animals live in a certain situations. Since being a zoologist means that I can work across the g...

Career planning pertains to a process in which there are a series of steps that will help you assess and determine your short-term and long-term career goals. This process involves taking time to decide what your goals are and how you’ll achieve them. As an adolescent being able to plan your future ahead is essential as it will give your more determination and time to prepare for what is to come. However, for me, planning my career is more difficult since I am an indecisive person.  As someone who is still not sure of what to take for college, it is crucial and important for me to try and assess my plans as the time for college nears.       There are a lot limitations that can be a setback towards your career-planning, such as financial stability and assessing "practical" choices. An example of this was when I was thinking of pursuing music. I was so persistent in wanting to become a musician, which made it harder for me to swal...

WEEK 7 - Discussion

Discussion Forum Answer the following in at least 5 sentences. 1. Why is the title called "Chameleon"?      By definition, chameleons are known for their ability to change and adapt within the environment by changing their colors. In Cam's case, she was compared to a chameleon because of how she changes herself to match with the person who she is dating. All throughout the video, it can be seen that in every relationship, Cam has a different look so that it matches with her partner at the time. Cam thinks that by deliberately changing her appearance and personality to adapt, they can become a "perfect pair". Unfortunately, it does not help their relationship in any form, being a "chameleon" did not make her relationships last longer. 2. Which specific instances in the video showed that Cam lost herself?     It was when she came back home from her last breakup that she truly saw what happened to her. Looking back, she had realized that she lost her true...

WEEK 6 - Reflection

REFLECTION QUESTIONS: 1. Give at least 5 VALUES that Norman learned from his family (particularly from his mother) or experiences and explain each using your own words and understanding.     The color of your skin does not dictate how you should live. Here in the Philippines, racism is clearly evident, yet is still being normalized as people continue to be ignorant on this topic. Many people disregard it as racism since Filipinos have lived in a society where the color of your skin and the class you belong to somehow shows your worth. This kind of mentality must have rooted from the past colonization of Spain, Japan, and the United States, where Filipinos are called as "Indios" which means that they are part of the lower class or are inferior towards the oppressors.      There should be no shame in living in poverty. Living in poverty is not anyone's fault, since not everyone is given the same privileges and opportunities as others. Poverty is caused by systemat...
